Infrastructure software company INFINITIX has deployed its enterprise management platform at South Korea’s Smart Manufacturing Innovation Centre (SMIC), marking the first adoption of Taiwan-developed AI software within the national smart manufacturing testbed.
Established in 2011 as a state-funded hub for industrial innovation, SMIC provides a testbed environment to validate smart factory technologies. The centre collaborates with domestic and global technology providers to co-develop demonstration lines, assess manufacturing solutions and integrate virtual production with physical manufacturing processes.
As SMIC expands its research and development scope, the facility required a platform to manage shared computing, storage and networking resources across multiple researchers and concurrent projects.
The INFINITIX AI-Stack platform provides software-defined resource management and multi-tenant controls, allowing researchers on-demand access to computing power through a unified interface. The system uses intelligent scheduling to reduce hardware idle time and prioritise workloads, supporting the centre’s manufacturing data centre and the development of manufacturing foundation models.
“SMIC’s stringent requirements for infrastructure stability, resource utilization, and scalability align directly with the core value of AI-Stack,” said Star Ko, General Manager of INFINITIX Korea.
By centralising infrastructure management, the deployment provides a scalable foundation to support model development, training and manufacturing validation as the centre’s user base and industrial workloads grow.
