Hi3D AI-automated 3D Printing

Hi3D has launched an end-to-end AI workflow designed to automate the design and preparation of 3D-printed models. The platform is intended to simplify the transition from concept to physical manufacturing for complex mechanical parts and figures.

The system uses the Sparc3D engine to reconstruct 3D models from text prompts or images in approximately two minutes. The software automatically generates “watertight” meshes, ensuring structural integrity and topology continuity for physical fabrication. This reduces the manual cleanup work typically required in CAD or mesh repair software.

For large-scale models, the platform includes an intelligent segmentation system that automatically splits designs into printable components. It also generates matching connector structures, such as mortise-and-tenon or ball-joint assemblies. A “Press-Fit Tolerance” system calculates necessary clearances based on specific printer hardware and material characteristics.

The workflow concludes with build plate optimisation, which adjusts model orientation and support strategies to improve surface quality or reduce print time. The system exports 3MF files compatible with major industrial and desktop slicing software, including Bambu Studio and Creality Print.

The company stated that the time required to transform a text prompt into a production-ready 3MF file can be reduced to approximately five minutes using this automated process.
