GMEX Robotics to slash industrial wireless latency

GMEX Robotics is acquiring an equity interest in a California-based company specialising in physical AI connectivity and wireless Systems-on-Chip (SoC) technology. The deal aims to address wireless latency and reliability issues that currently limit the scale of autonomous warehouse fleets.

The targeted technology includes a deterministic MAC engine designed to reduce wireless latency from the industry standard of 100 milliseconds to less than 3 milliseconds. This integration is intended to support more than 100 robots operating simultaneously through a single access point while minimising network degradation.

The acquisition would also incorporate AI Channel State Information (CSI) technology. This system transforms wireless signals into a perception layer, allowing robots to detect environmental changes and obstacles through signal analysis. GMEX intends to use these capabilities to transition toward a high-margin software subscription model for fleet analytics and predictive maintenance.

“Warehouse robotics is on the verge of an inflection point. While robotic hardware has advanced rapidly, connectivity limitations continue to create operational bottlenecks,” said Sam Lu, CEO of GMEX Robotics. Lu stated the partnership would assist in embedding deterministic connectivity directly into the robotics platform to solve infrastructure challenges in logistics.

The transaction remains subject to due diligence and the execution of definitive agreements. GMEX stated that the integration of this proprietary connectivity is expected to improve robot-to-cloud communication and lower operating costs for enterprise-scale automation.
