Fibocom has launched a 5G System-on-Chip (SoC) Dongle series to integrate 5G communication with an Android-based operating system. The new products target the global mobile broadband and industrial gateway markets.

The new series uses a highly integrated SoC architecture to reduce the number of peripheral components, which the company claims improves production yields and reduces research and development costs. The dongles are designed for applications ranging from telemedicine to industrial vending machines.

Technical specifications for the 5G SoC Dongle include:

  • 8-core CPU with speeds up to 2.3GHz and Adreno 613 GPU
  • Downlink speeds of up to 2.5Gbps
  • Support for Sub-6GHz global frequency bands (SA and NSA modes)
  • 256QAM modulation and 1T4R antenna technology
  • USB 3.1 interface for high-speed data transfer

The devices feature integrated eSIM and vSIM services, allowing users to manage data traffic and international roaming through a central management system. This digital SIM approach is intended to eliminate the logistical requirements of physical SIM card replacement for enterprise customers.

Fibocom is a wireless communication module provider listed in China. The company’s portfolio includes cellular, automotive, and GNSS modules used in digital transformation projects across the retail, energy, and robotics sectors.
