UK based Engineering consultancy ByteSnap Design has launched a support service for industrial manufacturers seeking to deploy WirelessHART devices in hazardous environments.

WirelessHART technology allows for wireless communication in process automation and control applications. However, achieving certification is complex due to layered compliance requirements, including WirelessHART protocol standards, ATEX and IECEx hazardous area certifications, and RF performance testing.

ByteSnap’s new service is for manufacturers facing technical and regulatory challenges associated with deploying wireless devices in hazardous areas.

The company has successfully prepared a WirelessHART device for certification for a major industrial client, guiding them through RF engineering, hardware design, embedded firmware development, hazardous-area engineering, and certification liaison.

ByteSnap’s service includes: an initial feasibility discussion; a detailed feasibility study; and full project delivery with hardware, firmware, RF design, ATEX compliance, FieldComm testing, and field validation.

According to ByteSnap Design, their partnership with Analog Devices has enabled them to use pre-certified, validated hardware, which speeds up development and compliance timelines. This collaboration helps clients reduce certification risk from the earliest design stages.
