Crosser, a Stockholm-based provider of intelligent edge analytics software, and Taiwanese IoT embedded systems firm Advantech have formed an alliance to empower global industries with edge analytics.

The alliance includes an initiative to have Crosser edge analytics software pre-installed on Advantech IoT systems to reduce the complexity and speed up the time from idea to proof of value in IoT applications. The low-code and drag-and-drop nature of the Crosser software makes it easy, also for non-developers, to set up.

The broad connectivity support of Advantech IoT systems means data from a long list of machines can be collected, analysed and acted upon.

“Advantech is a trusted global supplier of industrial grade systems and the combination of highly reliable hardware and easy-to-use but yet advanced software will create significant customer value,” said Martin Thunman, CEO of Crosser. “Together we empower customers with an industrial IoT or Industry 4.0 vision to go from idea to realisation much faster and to a lower total cost.”

The partnership is targeting both already installed products, so-called brownfield installations, as well as new deployments to simplify the digitalisation journey for industrial customers.

“We are glad to work together with forefront software like Crosser,” said Rick de Vries, head of smart industrial at Advantech. “Together we offer a complete solution with our dedicated hardware, the Advantech EdgeLink system as backbone and Crosser advanced analytics on top, enabling Industry 4.0 for both brownfield and future installations.”

Crosser designs and develops streaming analytics and integration software for any edge, on-premise or cloud. The Crosser platform enables real-time processing of streaming or batch data for industrial IoT, data transformation, analytics, automation and integration.

“In our discussion with Advantech, we wanted to meet the demand for a product that radically simplifies the industry’s IoT initiatives,” said Mikael Samuelsson, Crosser’s director of strategic alliances. “Therefore we came up with this Advantech edge platform with the low code Crosser platform embedded.”

The result is built to fight complexity with simplicity through the Crosser Flow Studio, a visual design tool that enables teams to innovate faster without developers. The software is suitable for enterprises in various industries and applications, including Industry 4.0, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and hybrid integration.

Established in 1983, Advantech offers system integration, hardware, software, user-centric design services, embedded systems, automation products and global logistics support.
