Chinese firm Weiyun AI & Robotics is using artificial intelligence (AI) to help orthodontic patients track their treatment progress and remind them to wear their aligners on time.
The AI Smile smart tracking case could change communications between dentists and patients, improving patient’s compliance and medical outcomes.
It integrates treatment tracking, wearing reminders, cycle recording, locating and data synchronising. When used with the AI Smile app, it helps patients track their orthodontic treatment progress and reminds them to wear the aligners on time. The case can also be used to store braces.
The product is available in Asia, North America and Africa. According to a senior medical analyst in the USA: “There is no doubt that, with the opening of a new round of global medical AI reshuffle, the core technological advantages of Weiyun have become more and more remarkable, and its wide acclaim in the international market has laid a solid foundation for its future market volume in those regions.”
For orthodontic patients, during the process of treatment, there are common problems such as easy loss of braces, difficulty in maintaining and developing wearing habits, and uncertainty in the treatment process, which might lead to frequent revisions of the orthodontic plan and even restarting it.
The case can be bound to the user app and the doctor’s platform. The customised treatment plan made by the dentist for the patient and actual progress can be seen in real time. Meanwhile, the doctor can remind them to wear the braces on time to improve their compliance and the orthodontic effect; in addition, its locating function can help avoid the loss of the braces. It can be linked to the cloud for case tracking and stage managing, assisting dentists in formulating more accurate follow-up treatment plans.
With the core technologies of artificial intelligence, robotics and machine vision, Weiyun, this year, has launched the AI Smile Venus 1.0 orthodontic treatment planning system, AI Smile S4 intra-oral scanner and other scientific and technological products for oral medical AI.
