Swedish birth control app Natural Cycles has launched a multi-purpose band that can be worn on the wrist overnight to replace its thermometer.

Called NC° Band, it works with the NC° FDA-cleared birth control app.

Powered by the NC° Fertility algorithm, the app analyses hormone-driven changes to confirm a user’s daily fertility status and deliver personalised cycle insights. The NC° Band provides a more effortless and cost-effective way for users to collect the biomarker data required by its algorithm.

Worn only while sleeping on a user’s inner wrist, the band automatically detects when a user falls asleep and records continuous overnight temperature, heart rate and movement; no manual measuring or all-day wear are required. With up to 14 nights of battery life, it integrates seamlessly into users’ routines while keeping all measurement data securely within the Natural Cycles app.

“Natural Cycles was built on the belief that understanding your body should be both empowering and accessible,” said founder Elina Berglund Scherwitzl. “Because temperature is central to our science, we’ve always envisioned creating a wearable designed for our users. The NC° Band brings that vision to life. We’re excited to offer a new option with features our users have asked for while continuing to support our integrated wearable partners and giving Cyclers the flexibility to choose what works best for them.”

The device joins existing wearable options compatible with Natural Cycles, including Ōura Ring and Apple Watch, and provides a more cost-friendly alternative for users seeking a simple way to measure.

It automatically records data while the wearer sleeps, including continuous tracking of skin temperature, heart rate and movement. There are no additional subscription fees.

Connectivity is through Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0. Charging via USB-C reaches full charge in 2.5 hours. It is water resistance to IP65, that is splash-resistant, but not suitable for showering, bathing or swimming.

The NC° Band, valued at $130, is now included with the Natural Cycles’ annual plan ($150). Existing Natural Cycles users can upgrade to the NC° Band for a limited time at a discounted price directly in the Natural Cycles app.

This launch follows the debut of NC° Perimenopause, an app mode released in October that helps decode hormonal changes during perimenopause. Together, NC° Band and NC° Perimenopause expand Natural Cycles’ mission to empower women throughout the different stages of their fertility journey with science-backed digital tools.

Founded in 2013 by physicists Elina Berglund Scherwitzl and Raoul Scherwitzl, Natural Cycles (Naturalcycles.com) is a women’s digital health company dedicated to transforming how women understand and manage their reproductive health.
