Digital health company Equiva is integrating AI validated conversational mentors from fellow New York company Belong Life into its platform.
Equiva serves hundreds of medical facilities in acute and post-acute settings. Belong is a specialist in AI-powered patient engagement platforms.
Their partnership will see Equiva integrate Belong’s AI mentors, starting with Dave, an expert in cancer care, and soon followed by Fred, a mentor for better health, sustainable weight loss and lifestyle improvement. These AI companions will be offered through Equiva’s in-hospital and home-based digital platforms, delivering scalable, smart and empathetic patient support.
“By integrating Dave and Fred into Equiva’s widely deployed platform, we are putting powerful, intelligent, and compassionate support in the hands of patients exactly when and where they need it,” said Eliran Malki, CEO of Belong Life. “This partnership supports our mission to humanise digital healthcare experiences and to provide scalable, smart options that bridge the gap between patients and their care teams.”
Belong’s AI mentors will be embedded directly within Equiva’s digital health engagement platform at bedside and in-home care. Patients and their caregivers can easily access the mentors via distributed tablets or their mobile phones to:
- Ask any health-related questions in real time
- Prepare for upcoming doctor appointments
- Translate medical documents or summaries
- Receive guided support on hospital discharge
- Access curated lists of questions to ask providers
- Receive emotional and behavioural coaching tailored to their condition
This integration addresses the growing need for conversational AI technologies that enhance clinical workflows, reduce information gaps and provide high-value engagement, without requiring patients to download or learn new apps.
“This partnership takes patient-centred care to the next level by combining Equiva’s reach with Belong’s health-grade AI mentors,” said Nir Altman, CEO of Equiva. “This goes beyond advanced technology; it’s about trust, access and improving outcomes. By embedding AI into patients’ daily interactions, we are unlocking new ways to educate, empower and engage.”
