Rural healthcare services provider 19Labs has launched the first commercial service of its new GALE | Force drones, powered by Starlink and NVIDIA AI. The first service is transferring medications and lab samples to remote communities in the South American country of Guyana.
19Labs and the Guyanese Government plan to expand the service to all of Guyana’s rural hinterland in early 2026. The company is also in advanced discussions with further governments to bring GALE | Force service to other countries around the world.
Starlink connectivity transforms beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flight operations. NVIDIA AI allows it to perform safe vertical take-off and landing (VTOL).
The drones are IP55 weather and rainproof for safe operation in adverse weather conditions. Remote pilot HD view provides the same experience as manned aviation, early weather detection and remote inspection of landing sites. The drones can take off and land anywhere. They possess a 200 km (124 miles) range and can travel at up to 90 km/hr (55mph).
They possess a chilled cargo compartment and have temperature monitoring for medication, vaccines, and blood samples.
“The GALE | Force drone opens tremendous new markets that go far beyond medical supplies, including, for example, completely transforming Emergency Response,” said Ram Fish, CEO, 19Labs. “GALE | Force drone is the industry’s first and only all-in-one integrated solution that empowers governments to survey the emergency scene remotely, provide connectivity to first responders and deliver the essential supplies they need. Combined with our advanced telemedicine solution, the result is smarter, effective crisis handling and access to medical care and supplies that help save lives.”
