Taiwan-based Acer Medical has launched a generative AI medical documentation system to free up clinicians from administrative tasks. aiMed is designed to minimise medical documentation errors while reducing the administrative workload for healthcare professionals.

According to Acer, healthcare professionals spend around a quarter of their time on medical record keeping. Not only does this eat into time available for patient care, it also contributes to burnout.

Acer Medical’s new generative AI has been developed specifically for healthcare purposes. It converts voice dictation or typed notes into structured electronic medical records (EMRs). The Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) function within aiMed incorporates specialised medical terminology and contextual understanding.

aiMed is designed to interoperate with a range of hospital information systems and EMRs.

Acer Medical also provides the VeriSee platform, an AI-assisted ophthalmology analysis platform. It can integrate multiple existing and new AI modules, allowing doctors to select and use them based on different clinical needs.
